So have you seen photos of cracked strut towers on 1st Gen Tacomas or 3rd Gen 4Runners?
I didn’t want to be that guy, so I made some 3/16″ thick upper mount reinforcement plates ( – for when you bottom out that $$$ coilover because your bump stops and compressed length weren’t on the same page.)
When used in combination with limit straps (I make lower limit strap tabs as well – part of the my lower control arm reinforcement kit), these should eliminate strut tower cracking altogether.
(I’m not guaranteeing that you cannot break your truck, but I’ll be impressed if you do.)
As with my other stuff, these are WIY (Weld-It-Yourself) but self-aligning and easy to install.
